Background

Curries Online now occupies pole position in a busy and dynamic online market place where commercial success is measured by the critical user-consumer mass, ownership of the high ground of online feature innovation and evidenced by links to trusted partners. The front end of the portal website and associated social media assets and robust digital brand have all been built by Design Inc.We were initially approached by Curries Online and are currently retained as ongoing consultants. Our rebranding and campaign work has gained the business trust within the restaurant community and raised the profile  among consumers. We have supported their groundbreaking plans to offer third party advertising, partnering corporate brands as major and regional sponsors and media stakeholders. data work has once again been critical to the success of this partnership and been central to all communications.

Approach

Consumer marketing campaign

Design Inc developed a strongly differentiated personality-based campaign for promotion of the Curries Online main site, social media and for advertising on 3rd party websites. The illustration based ‘curry characters’ are genre  challenging within the Indian food sector – these are the Curries Online family. The brand palette of earthy spice colours has been used to provide a warm – to hot and comfortable environment. We have introduced animations and interplay between the characters who have different roles to play in the marketing mix at different times of the online retail day, week, month and year.

Results

Just Eat has greatly flattered Curries online by adopting a very similar approach to its own branding and restaurant point of sale. Kingfisher beer has joined with Curries Online in major partnership marketing initiative. Curries Online Facebook page has over 3,600 likes. Over 1500 restaurants have signed up as Curries Online members.
