Venues & Experiences

Design Inc is an award-winning provider of branding, creative marketing services and digital assets for venues and experiences

A place at the top table

We are proud of our MIMA awards for venue marketing for clients including the business meetings campaign for the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden and One Great George Street.

Our marketing planning service, contemporary literature design and creative advertising campaigns were just the ticket for the commercial development of central London venues including The London Film Museum on the Southbank near the London Eye, the Victory Services Cub at Marble Arch, Senate House in Bloomsbury and the Post Office Museum.

In addition to building experiential brand identities and campaigns with evocative imagery and messages, websites we have created for real-world and online spaces include virtual tours, venue-finder and quote building tools to support busy sales teams by automating conversion. Venue bookers are always seeking new experiences. When they find one they want to see the spaces offered in detail – especially how they interconnect and flow. They also want to be reassured that the quality of the hospitality and the ambience will meet expectations

Clients in the sector have benefited from the following:

  • Marketing strategy
  • Branding
  • Advertising
  • SMM
  • Websites (with booking engines and interactive fly-through tools)

Building brands

Venue branding may require creating a brand identity, and sometimes a name for a building that has to work with its main address or function. Many institutions have added a venue hire offering as an additional income stream alongside their main activity.

All our identity work sets out to design a differentiated and engaging brand, whether by reflecting a unique or characterful event space or suggesting the potential of a blank canvas. The branding process will include exploration of the potentially most appealing features and benefits and representing them in the identity design.

Optimised online presence

Venue marketing websites are a vital way for clients to show the potential of their event spaces to potential bookers without requiring them to visit. It is important that as well as the practical information, the full potential of the venue spaces for different types of events, the event team and the wider support services are showcased to best effect.

When developing the UX for venue websites have used features like interactive floor plans to show interconnectivity of rooms for hire, VR tours and video to bring venues to life. We have also provided sophisticated search tools, quoting and booking functionalities to enable clients’ sales teams to efficiently deal with as many enquiries as possible.

Advertising icons

Whether the media channel is tactically positioned OOH sites, directories like Square Meal, banners on event booker websites or SM, advertising is an important way for venues to gain visibility and lay out the stall. This is especially true for new entrants that may be known to prospects – but not considered to be available for events. It is also key for venues for whom events are a side-line that a possible misconception that an event held there may be difficult, risky or offer poor hospitality quality when compared to booking a purpose-built event venues is mitigated.

Our award winning venue advertising work includes 2 such campaigns for iconic institutions – both with landmark buildings offering unique spaces – but neither were associated with business events. For London University’s ‘art deco skyscraper’ Senate House and the creative hub that is the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, we created visually outstanding advertising campaigns using the USPs, of the buildings unique skyline profile as ‘pulse’ and the creativity of costume design as ‘performance’ respectively.
