Design Inc sponsored Mazda racer Andrew Caird took home not just one but two trophies in the final rounds of the 2014 British Racing and Sports Car Club’s MX-5 Championship. Andrew claimed a second and a fourth in two of his three races at the notoriously challenging Donington Park circuit in Leicestershire. He was delighted to win his first ever silverware, at the meeting where the championship saw its biggest entry of the year with 52 drivers.

Reflecting on the season and looking to the future, Andrew’s hooked and will be returning to racing next year, hopefully to take the next step and compete in the MX-5 Supercup in a newer more powerful model.

He said: “I did some testing in a Mk3 MX-5 and felt really comfortable. It was much more precise and the tyres were more predictable. I’m leaning towards making the jump for next year. “2014’s been emotional! From a rookie perspective it’s been a steep learning curve, having to learn the car, learn the tracks, and learn racecraft. Everybody had to show me how to do everything mechanically and I’ve made a lot of friends along the way. It’s been a real experience”

Andrew would like to thank all his 2014 season sponsors including DST, Anova, Design Inc, UK Active Outdoors and Pond & Sharman Accident Repair Centre.

We would like to add our heartfelt congratulations to this latest performance which bodes well for the future.
