Design Inc are proud to have supported the University of Surrey with their International Women’s Day advertising campaign.

The University of Surrey has been changing the world with their work for over half a century, and having women trailblazers is part of their DNA. for example, Professor Daphne Jackson, a distinguished theoretical nuclear physicist, became Professor of Physics at the university at the age of 34, in 1971 – the first female professor of physics in history!

So, to celebrate other women pushing the boundaries of science and innovation at the university, we created the Celebrating Women in Research campaign. This would showcase various professors and doctors from a wide spectrum of research area across the Surrey campus.

The design for the International Women’s Day advertising campaign required an initial photoshoot. All the women posed with arms in an embrace style and shot against a plain background. This was done to allow us to create an easier ‘cut out’, which could then be used to reposition within a template style which had been designed by us a few weeks prior.

For each image, a series of advert sizes was created to be used on a number of digital formats. From small thumbnails through to large format piazza screens, website banners, social media posts, teaser campaigns, etc. Some designs simply featured sole images of the women, sometimes with a biog, sometimes without. All in all, Design Inc supplied over 120 different design files for the campaign.
