BancTec is a global leader in BPO, providing electronic transaction and document management services. Delivering clients efficiency in their financial and back-office processes. The company has recently moved into invoicing services with the launch of BancPay.
Within a year of working for BancTec, we were approached to lend support with the development of brand assets for a major new offering launch – BancPay. This strategic market response represented a major investment by BancTec and a commitment to move into the cloud-based electronic payment services market.
As well as the new BancPay financial services branding, the new launch campaign included a major new website, a demonstration video film, direct marketing, social media marketing and printed marketing collateral as well as internal communications to engage employees in the new strategic developments.
The new BancPay service faced stiff market competition from similar schemes being set up by a household banking brands with the associated financial backing. As BancTec was better known for technology rather than providing a financial service, it was decided that this campaign needed to have a more ‘people-facing’ feel of a big company providing a financially trusted and secure ‘safe pair of hands’.
The BancPay financial services branding campaign required the creation literally of ‘a whole new world’. The new business model being a service ‘process’ rather than the hardware, software and solutions that the company has previously provided. The world of BancPay is formed of a joined-up ‘line’ of networks creating that unbroken chain of a process.
The website and video was created using a single line illustration to ‘build’ the environment.
The new website created for BancPay as the main marketing asset as visiting the site enables users to view the introduction to the world of BancPay movie. The design concept is based on a contemporary style of simple line illustration which is animated and embellished in Flash and video formats.
The video production featured professional presenter Simon Morgan as the on-screen host, literally taking a walk through the ‘world’ of BancPay, interacting with the illustrated environment as he demonstrates the benefits of the service.
