Printed brochure cover titled “Supporting effective college governance in England” featuring a group of students seated on steps, produced by Stone King specialist education and governance lawyers.

Longstanding Moore-Wilson client law firm Stone King recently approached Design Inc via their support team, requesting a standalone brochure to promote the London-based firm’s specialist legal services for governors of educational institutions.

The brochure takes a traditional A4 portrait ‘trusted document’ format and the design includes an effective use of colour, graphic elements and stock imagery in the Stone King brand style.

Effective governance is at the heart of every successful college. As the education landscape continues to evolve – with increasing regulatory demands, financial pressures, and heightened accountability – college governors must be equipped with clear, practical guidance to navigate their responsibilities confidently.

The brochure, developed for legal specialists Stone King, offers a focused overview of the legal services and strategic support available to college governors. It serves as both a reference point and a reassurance tool, helping boards understand where expert legal advice can strengthen governance and reduce risk.

The brochure recognises that many governors are not legal experts yet are expected to make decisions with significant legal implications. This is where targeted legal support becomes essential.

One of the brochure’s key strengths is its emphasis on proactive, rather than reactive, legal support. By engaging legal advisors early, governors can:

  • Anticipate potential risks
  • Strengthen governance frameworks
  • Make confident, well-informed decisions
  • Avoid costly disputes or regulatory issues
  • This preventative approach aligns with modern governance expectations, where accountability and transparency are paramount.

The brochure positions Stone King not just as legal advisors, but as long-term partners in governance. Their sector-specific expertise means they understand the unique challenges faced by further education colleges, allowing them to provide practical, relevant advice. For governors, this translates into reassurance: knowing that complex legal matters are being handled by specialists who understand both the law and the education sector.

The publication is more than a summary of services – it is a practical guide that reflects the realities of college governance today. For both new and experienced governors, it underscores the importance of expert legal support in maintaining effective, compliant, and forward-looking institutions.

As colleges continue to adapt to change, strong governance – supported by clear legal guidance – will remain essential. Resources like this brochure play a valuable role in helping governors meet that challenge with confidence.
