Following our work for Surrey Police’s successful hate crime advertising campaign, Design Inc are pleased to see that the city of Nottingham has once again been awarded Purple Flag status, indicating that the city is a great, safe and vibrant place for a night out.
Nottingham BID is the main driving force behind securing this accreditation and their approach to the management of the night-time economy in the city is being heralded as a shining example of best practice on a national level by the organising body, ATCM (Association of Town & City Management).
Nottingham BID worked in partnership with other organisations in the city including Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire Police, Community Protection, the Crime and Drugs Partnership, the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
And Design Inc are very proud to have played our little bit too, having been responsible for the design & delivery of the city’s recent Hate Crime advertising campaign.
Frank Norman, Design Inc’s Commercial Director explains: “We started talking with Nottingham BID after they had seen previous hate crime advertising campaigns that we had delivered for other areas. In this case, the campaign needed to focus on the night-time economy and complement the city’s new hate crime ‘charter’. We were aware they were working towards Purple Flag status and that the advertising campaign needed to highlight: a) that hate crime is not acceptable and would not be tolerated in the city b) information regarding how victims could confidentially report the crime c) that Nottingham is a safe city for everyone to visit & enjoy.”
The No Place for Hate advertising campaign focused on four key components of the night-time economy: Drink, Food, Music, Travel and was highly effective with wide reach across the city through direct mail, print, digital & OOH advertising and social media campaigns.
