Case Study University of London Senate House Venue Marketing
Background
Designed by architect Charles Holden, Senate House was London's first skyscraper. This beautifully proportioned listed Modern landmark building in Bloomsbury has been subject to a multi-million pound refurbishment and re-launched with the scaled up marketing of a suite of unique venue spaces to event and conference organisers.
The marketing need
Historically mainly used by the academic community, Senate House wants to now attract high-end commercial and corporate clients for its conference and event facilities. Following a three way creative pitch Design Inc were awarded the integrated design and marketing work.
The strategy
Historically Senate House as a venue was purely promoted by an unwieldy and uninspiring area within the University of London website. The new conference and events team were looking to create a high profile dynamic, search engine optimised and engaging digital asset. The website is complemented by the design of two printed marketing brochures, one for events and one for conferences to demonstrate that with a little imagination and the support of the events team at Senate House - you can create an event with a true sense of occasion.
The creative
Design Inc created an integrated on and offline branded campaign. With the building's amazing architecture at centre stage providing a sense of space. And a totally sensual experience - atmosphere, flexibility, creativity and technology for your conference and event as supporting messages. The outline of the building used as an animated pulse throughout all media including banner ads email DM and the holding page before the main site went live.
The results
Senate House has recently become a hot cognoscenti catwalk for the London Fashion Show - featuring the new collection of Erdem Moraliglou.
Testimonial
According to Darren Scurville, Event marketing specialist at Design Inc, "This building certainly has the wow factor and an inspirational history - taking cues from that heritage and the form and function of its iconic architecture we present Senate House as the new-must have central London venue."
